HOW IT WORKS

Use the gpa calculator in seconds

Multiply each course grade point by its credits, sum those quality points, then divide by total GPA credits. This 4.0-scale estimator accepts grades from 0 to 4, credits greater than 0 and at most 20 per course, and up to 100 courses. Blank, invalid or out-of-range values suppress the result instead of becoming zero. Include failed graded courses as 0; remove courses excluded by your institution, such as pass/fail or ungraded courses. The tool rounds to two decimals, while official institutions may truncate or use different repeat-course, transfer and exclusion rules. These operational limits and rounding are not universal academic policy.

WORKED EXAMPLE

GPA Calculator: an example

A 4.0 grade in a three-credit class and a 3.0 grade in a one-credit class give (12 + 3) ÷ 4 = 3.75 GPA.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

GPA Calculator FAQ

How is GPA calculated?

Multiply each course grade point by its credits, add those values, then divide by the total credits.

Does this calculator use a 4.0 scale?

Yes. Enter grade points from 0.0 to 4.0 for each course.

Can I calculate a weighted GPA?

Yes, weighting is by course credits, not high-school honors or AP bonus points. Courses with more GPA credits contribute more to the final estimate.

Why is no GPA displayed?

Add at least one graded course, enter grade points from 0 to 4 and positive credits up to 20 per course. Blank or invalid rows must be completed or removed; an empty list is not a 0.00 GPA.

Will this match my official transcript?

Not necessarily. This estimate rounds to two decimals. Institutions can truncate and apply their own letter-grade, repeat-course, transfer and exclusion policies. Follow your registrar's rules.
